The Golden Handcuffs
It’s a thing. It’s when a company offers pay and benefits that’s so far out of the realm that it seems too good to be true.
It’s because it is too good to be true. They aren’t necessarily paying you over market or above their competitors because of they are a great company. This might be true. They are doing that because they want you to go work for them and stay there.
It’s a talent attraction and retention strategy. What will happen once you accept?
Well you can’t leave because most other companies aren’t going to pay you that much. Or you go work for a big name company slaving 60-80 hours a week.
You can stay there forever. But ask yourself before you accept the position, are you ready to stay there forever?
