First lesson in Recruiting!
Almost four years ago, when I started my first Recruiting job as a HR Generalist I didn’t know anything. Honestly, I still don’t know a lot. Recruiting is like any other field but is also very different than all other fields. It’s a big black hole of knowledge and information. My first year as an Agency Recruiter I thought I saw everything I could see. Oh how mistaken I was. Just when you think you know everything, a curve ball is thrown at you. I wish someone would have told me this when I first started in this industry. Recruiting is about People. It’s about the employees. I think somewhere in the Corporate world, HR and Recruiting stopped being about Employees and started being about the bottom line and company objectives. This however needs to stop. Richard Branson said: “Clients do not come first, employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your clients.” Let’s make recruiting about Employees and candidates again. #MakeRecruitingGreatAgain
